Anterior Segmental Osteotomy (ASO)

Protruding mouth refer to a condition
where the mouth noticeably juts out when viewed from the side.
In severe cases, the alveolar bone itself is protruded,
making it difficult to close the lips and causing excessive gum exposure
when smiling, which often leads to aesthetic concerns.
It can also result in a blunt or aged appearance due to wrinkles forming around the mouth.

Anterior Segmental Osteotomy (ASO) aims to correct these issues.

Two jaw surgery

Considering three factors—safety, function, and aesthetics—bones, skin, fat, and muscle are harmonized.

Our face comprises not only the shape of the bone but also various soft tissues such as skin, fat, and muscle; therefore, by considering all these elements, we create a balanced and naturally attractive facial appearance and expression.

About Two Jaw Surgery

Generally, facial massage for routine skin care can begin 1–2 months after surgery. However, for meridian massage, which involves applying strong pressure using the arm, elbow, or tools on the operated area, it is advisable to wait until 3–6 months post-surgery to avoid excessive pressure on the surgical site.

Generally, since the screws and plates are located in a much deeper layer, procedures targeting the epidermis, subcutaneous fat, or SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) can be performed at any time. However, it may be more effective to wait until the initial severe swelling has subsided.

It is not absolutely necessary to remove the screws. Since screws (and plates) made of highly biocompatible titanium alloy are used, they generally do not cause problems even if they remain in the body for a long time. Only in cases where the screws are close to the dental roots, impinge on the inferior alveolar nerve, or if inflammation necessitates removal, should they be removed.
